Drinks

Honey Lemonaid
Yield:  Makes 1 glass
Ingredients: 
   3 drops of Lemon
   2 teaspoons of Honey
   2 cups of cold water

Instructions:
   1.  Mix the 3 drops of lemon essential oil and the honey in a glass
   2.  Add the water, stir, and drink!  Yumm

Zanzibar Cinnamon Milk

Yield: Makes 4 cups
Ingredients:
   2/3 cup raw almonds
   4 soft dates
   4 cups water
   1 drop of Cinnamon essential oil
   4 drops of Orange essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Remove pits from dates.  Soak almonds and dates in 2 cups water overnight.
   2.  Blend with remaining water till smooth.
   3.  Add Cinnamon and Orange essestial oils and sieve in a mesh strainer.
   4.  Chill.  A wonderfully resfreshing summer drink.

Desserts

Chocolate-Mint Paradise Bar

Yields:  3 bars
Ingredients:
   6 soft dates (4 1/2 Tablespoons mashed dates)
   3 Tablespoons barley malt syrup
   3/4 cup cashew butter
   3 Tablespoons carob powder
   3/4 cup roasted almonds
   3 drops of Peppermint essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Remove pit from dates and mash using a mortar and pestle.
   2.  Add barley malt and Peppermint oil.
   3.  Add roasted, chopped almonds and carob powder.
   4.  Shape into 3 bars.  Freeze for 1 hour, then slice right before serving.
   5.  Prepare yourself for a taste of unbelievable "chocolate"!  Store in the freezer.

Nutty Butter Frosting
Ingredients:
   1 cup soft butter
   1 teaspoon vanilla
   4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
   3 to 4 Tablespoons milk (to good consistency
   6 drops of Nutmeg essential oil

Instructions:
  1.  Mix all ingredients well.
   2.  Add to your favorite flavored cake!  I like it on Chocolate or Yellow cake and even with pumpkin bread.

Cream Cheese Icing
          ~from "Reference Guide for Essentail Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley
Ingredients:
   8oz package of cream cheese
   1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar
   1 stick of butter
   3 drops of Tangerine essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Cream ingredients together thoroughly with electric beater.
   2.  Enjoy!  [try with lemon cake]

Easy Mint Chocolate Cake
Ingredients:
   1 box chocolate cake mix
   1 1/3 cups water
   1/2 cup vegetable oil
   3 eggs
   6 drops of Peppermint essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Prepare cake per box instructions, adding peppermint oil while doing the final mixing. 
   2.  Share with everyone!

Baked Goods

Orange Cinnamon Bread
Yield:  2 loaves
Ingredients:
   2 packages active dry yeast
   1/4 cup warm water
   1 cup milk
   3/4 cup water room temperature
   1 cup sugar, divided
   5 drops of Orange essential oil
   1 1/2 teaspoons salt
   1 egg
   6 1/2 to 7 cups all-purpose flour
   additional water
   1 drop of Cinnamon essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
   2.  In a saucepan, heat milk and add to yeast mixture.
   3.  Stir in 1/2 cup sugar, 3/4 cup water, Orange drops, salt, egg and 3 cups flour; beat until smooth.  Add enough remaining flour to form a soft dough.
   4.  Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.  Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top.  Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
   5.  Punch dough down; divide in half.  Roll each portion into a 15-in. x 7-in. rectangle.  Brush with water.  Combine the drop of cinnamon oil and remaining suger; sprinkle over dough to within 1 in. of edge.
   6.  Tightly roll up, yelly-roll style, starting with a short side; seal ends.  Place seam side down into two greased 9-in x 5 in. loaf pans.  Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
   7.  Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown.  Remove from pans to cool on a wire rack.  (For a tasty glaze combine 1 cup of confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons of water, and 1 drop of Orange essential oil.

Buttered Basil Garlic Melt
          ~from "Reference Guide for Essential Oils" by Connie and alan Higley
Ingredients:
   1 loaf cheese bread or any artisan bread, cut into 1 inch slices
   1/2 stick butter
   1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
   4 drops of basil essential oil
   Sliced mozzarella cheese

Instructions:
   1.  Melt butter then add garlic powder and stir well.
   2.  Add basil oil, mix well.
   3.  With a large unused paint brush, brush on butter mixture until saturated. 
   4.  Cover sliced bread with slices of cheese and bake at 350 until golden brown.

Veggies

Fresh Lemon Terragon Dressing
Ingredients:
   1 Tablespoon fresh tarragon, diced
   1 Tablespoon fresh Basil
   1 cup olive oil
   hot sauce
   6 drops of Lemon essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Mix all the ingredients well and use as a topper for anything!  Great with fish and salads. 
   2.  Store in the refrigerator until next use.

Steamed Mixed Veggies
Ingredients:
   2 Carrots
   1 Stem of Broccoli
   1/4 head of Califlour
   1 drop of Orange or Tangerine essential oil

Instructions:
   1. Add one drop of either Orange or Tangerine essential oil to the water of the steamer pot.
   2.  Add carrots first and begin to steam, add the other veggies and steam until soft.

Asian Vegetable Soup
Yields: 2 servings
Ingredients:
   1 potato
   1 carrot
   1 onion
   2 teaspoons soy sauce
   1 teaspoon butter
   1 1/4 cups chicken broth
   Pinch of Black pepper
   1 tablespoon parsley
   1 drop of Orange essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Dice carrot, potatoe, onion and parsley.
   2.  Add water and veggies to a saucepan.  Bring to boil and simmer with lid for 10 minutes.
   3.  In a bowl stir in butter and broth till creamy. 
   4.  Add the creamy broth/butter mix, soy sauce, black pepper, and parsley to saucepan.
   5.  Stir in the Orange essential oil drop right before serving.

Meats

Orange and Ginger Shrimp

Ingredients:
   1 pound uncooked shrimp
   2 Tablespoons soy sauce
   2 Tablespoons Sherry
   2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
   1 Clove garlic, crushed
   1 small orange, squeezed
   2 drops of Ginger essential oil
   2 drops of Orange essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Mix all the marinade ingredients and pour over the uncooked shrimp.  Leave for 1-2 hours. 
   2.  Remove the shrimp from the marinade and stir-fry with 1 teaspoon of marinade until cooked.
   3.  Add the remaining marinade and cook for another 5 minutes.
   4.  Serve on a bed of watercress, decorate with orange slices and/or nasturtium flowers.

Red Meat Marinade

Yield:  Enough for 2# of meat
Ingredients:
   1 cup red wine
   1 drop of Thyme essential oil
   1 drom of Marjoram essential oil
   1 drop of Clove essential oil
   2 Tablespoons olive oil
   2 colves garlic
   1 onion, chopped
   Pinch of salt
   1/4 teaspoon whole blace peppercorns
   1 drop of Orange essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Blend the thyme, marjoram, and clove oils into the olive oil.
   2.  Pour the red wine into a dish large enough to hold your meat and add the garlic, onion, and orange essential oil. 
   3.  Rub 1 Tablespoon of the blended oil over the meat.
   4.  Place the meat in the red wine.  (Keep the second tablespoon for another time.)
   5.  Leave the meat covered for eight hours, turning occasionally.
   6.  Cook in your favorite way, using the marinade to make a sauce if desired.

Fresh Tuna Marinade

Yield:  Enough for 1# of fresh tuna
Ingredients:
   1 cup dry white wine
   1 clove garlic
   1 small onion, sliced
   A pinch of salt
   1/4 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
   1 drop of Lemon essential oil
   1 drop Fennel essential oil

Instructions:
   1.  Pour the white wine into a dish large enought o hold the tuna and add the garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. 
   2.  Mix the lemon and fennel essential oils with the olive oil and rub this into the tuna.
   3.  Place the fish in the dish with the white wine.  Leave covered for 3-6 hours.
   4.  Grill or poach the tuna and use the marinade for a sauce.
